Felipe Aristimuño is a researcher in visual arts, multimedia, and education affiliated with the Center for Research and Studies in Fine Arts (CIEBA) at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. His research explores visual culture as a pedagogical paradigm for visual arts, with a particular focus on the use of information technology and digital media in education.
Aristimuño holds a PhD in Multimedia from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon (2020), a Master’s degree in Teaching Visual Arts from the Institute of Education at the University of Lisbon (2011), a Specialization in Inclusive Education from the Faculty of Human Kinetics at the University of Lisbon (2022), and a Bachelor’s degree in Photography from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (2007). His PhD dissertation, titled "Education for Visual Culture in Social Media (EVMS): the meme and the Remix Culture in developing competencies for visual and media empowerment in basic and secondary education", was supervised by Professor João Paulo Queiroz and received a Summa Cum Laude distinction.
